We're at a stage now where most of Leo Messi's opponents don't even bother trying to wind him up, or kick him off the pitch, because they know full well that it's pointless, as you can't hurt the best player on the planet's feelings, and he's surprisingly durable as far as modern footballers come.
That didn't stop Espanyol defender Alvaro, who presumably thought that he was obligated to try and piss Messi off as captain of their local rivals, as he gave a seriously half-hearted attempt at an insult that ended up with both players having a laugh.
The two clashed when competing for the ball:
Which prompted Alvaro to slag Messi for being "really small"..
The four time Ballon D'Or winner, unfazed by this piss-poor jibe, issued a simple reply, that was accepted by the intended recipient.
And this was confirmed after the match by Alvaro:
Alvaro (Espanyol): "I told Messi he's really small and he replied I'm really bad. We're both right, no problem, stays on the pitch" #fcblive

Amusing exchange at Espanyol-Barça last night.
Alvaro: "You're really small."
Messi: "You're really bad."
Alvaro: "Yeah..."
Both laugh.
