A German third division game between SV Meppen and Carl Zeiss Jena, which finished 2-2 on Saturday, featured some angry scenes during the second half.
Meppen held a 2-0 lead nearly 12 minutes after the break when Jena, the home side, cut the deficit in half.
How they did it, via Sören Eismann, was a controversial moment. After a Jena's Julian Guenther-Schmidt went down injured following a tackle, Meppen's Nico Granatowski stop playing. He presumed the action would halt to allow the player, who looked to be in severe pain, receive treatment.
Aptly, considering his name, Eismann did not care for the condition of his teammate. He robbed the ball from Granatowski and ran through on goal, slotting past Erik Domaschke in the Meppen goal.
Further salt would be rubbed into the Meppen would be Eismann 25 minutes later when he scored an equaliser for his side.
A lesson to always play to the whistle.
