A very odd tweet from Everton's official twitter account has sent the transfer rumour mill into overdrive.
It's extremely common for clubs to monitor the progress of their players and relay that information to the fans during international breaks, in fact it's the done thing, but you very, very rarely see clubs letting their fans know that players from different teams have scored.
That's why a lot of fuss has been made about Everton tweeting about the half-time score for Yannick Bolaise's DR Congo match, and that Memphis Depay had scored for Holland.

There have been reports all over the British media in the last week that Ronald Koeman is planning a January loan move for Memphis Depay, who has struggled to find minutes in the team under Jose Mourinho at Old Trafford, so obviously this was at the front of everyone's mind when the tweet from Everton was seen.
Does it confirm that Memphis Depay is going to Everton? No, in fact it was tweeted because Maarten Stekelenburg, an Everton player, was in goal for the Dutch. Here's a tweet sent about 25 minutes beforehand:

But it was certainly very odd, and twitter took it at ran with it.

On face value, it did look like a strange thing to put out there, but a look at Everton's timeline would have cleared up any confusion.
Memphis Depay may very well join Everton in January, but it will have absolutely nothing to do with that tweet.
