With Dundalk having the league title pretty much wrapped up already, their attentions have now turned to the FAI Cup. Tonight they faced off against UCD at Oriel Park for a place in the final, where they could come against either Cork City or Bohemians.
While UCD are a second tier side, they have strolled to the First Division title. They would be no pushovers, although Dundalk were strong favourites entering the game.
The home side had the better of the play for most of the opening period, and they took the lead just before the interval with this incredible solo effort from Patrick McEleney.

He made that look easy. The way he he skipped by the opposition defenders and stroked the ball home was incredibly impressive.
McEleney left Dundalk at the end of last season to move to League One side Oldham Athletic, before returning halfway through the current campaign.
