No sooner had Zinedine Zidane announced his departure from Real Madrid, and speculation regarding his successor began to swirl. Although all appears well for him in North London, Mauricio Pochettino was one of those names presumed to be high up Real's list.
One of the most coveted jobs in European football, anyone daring to step into the role would be all too familiar of the legacy Zidane has left behind him.
Three Champions League wins in two-and-a-half years, what the Frenchman has achieved is nothing short of remarkable. While the Argentine Pochettino has long been touted as a possible Real Madrid manager, Sky Sports has reported that for the time being at least, Tottenham Hotspur will hold onto their manager.

Although it had been believed that Pochettino would be accessible to Real Madrid, and certainly open to the possibility of managing the Spanish giants, the cost of a release clause is one potential deterrent.
If these results prove accurate, replacing Zinedine Zidane will likely prove a more arduous process.
