Premier League Years may have taught you the cautionary tale of Rodney Marsh, who promised on Soccer Saturday to shave his head if Bradford survived the 99/2000 season, calling them the worst team he had seen in the Premiership. On the following day, MArsh went to watch Bradford at Valley Parade...and had his head shaved on the pitch as the club survived the drop.
Matt Le Tissier has left himself open to a similar(ish) situation, in an attempt to play down Stephen Ward's golazo against Chelsea. We don't think it's too over the top for us to describe Ward's goal as the Best Goal By An Irishman, nay, By Any Player In The History Of The Premier League.
Le Tiss doesn't agree, however, and was caught by his colleagues saying that, were Ward to win the Goal of the Season, he would appear naked on the show next year.
Here's how it played out:
Stephen Ward, what have you done!?
