Jose Mourinho is reportedly a big fan of Matt Doherty.
According to Football.London, the Spurs manager is interested in bringing the Ireland international to the club ahead of the new season.
A fee in the region of £12 million is mentioned while Sky Sports add that they understand no bid has been made for the 28-year-old.
Doherty has flourished in Wolves' two years back in the Premier League, playing 75 times and providing 11 assists.
Spurs have already made two acquisitions this season, goalkeeper Joe Hart on a free transfer and midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg for a reported £15 plus add-ons from Southampton.
If he was to make the move to London, Doherty would likely be a replacement for current Spurs right-back Serge Aurier whose future at the club is uncertain.
Doherty joined Wolves in 2010 from Bohs with the League of Ireland side reportedly having a 10 per cent sell-on clause in the deal.
