Chelsea look to have upped their activity in the transfer window with two days left before it slams shut. According to Marca Real Madrid's Mateo Kovacic is close to joining Maurizio Sarri's side on loan. The Croatian has been angling for a move since his return from the World Cup, with the 24-year-old frustrated at his lack of first team opportunities at the club.

The Blues goalkeeping situation remains ambiguous with Thibaut Courtois again missing from training amid rumours that he will exit the club for Real Madrid. Barcelona centre back Yerry Mina is another player conspicuous by his absence on the training field. The Colombian has been heavily linked with Everton and Manchester United, but Lyon president Jean Michel-Aulas has also thrown his club's name in the ring for the 23-year-old's signing, claiming that rumours that the player has signed for Everton are wide of the mark:

I do not think (this) information is correct. Yerry is still very interested in OL. We all wish it to be Lyonnais also to play the Champions League at the GS.

Meanwhile Liverpool midfielder Pedro Chirivella is wanted by Celtic according to Neil Jones of Goal.com. The Spaniard recently rejected the opportunity to joining Norwegian outfit Rosenborg in a £3.5 million deal.

Should Chirivella move to Celtic Park, he will link up with former manager Brendan Rodgers. Rodgers gave the 21-year-old his professional debut for Liverpool in a Europa League tie at Bordeaux in September 2015.

The club have also had an offer from Fulham for defender Dredrych Boyata, but Rodgers says the SPL champions rejected the bid as 'it it would be very difficult for us to replace him' with the transfer window nearly over.
