Wesley Sneijder's diminutive stature might have allowed him to excel at football, but his 5'7" frame can lead to some embarrassing situations. Such was the case last night during a Euro 2016 qualifier between the Netherlands and the Czech Republic.
You can see from the photo below that pairing the midfielder with a relatively tall mascot was a poor judgment call. Sneijder was forced to stand sheepishly at the side to pose for the team photo as a result. Surely Jasper Cillessen could have traded his mascot with the Galatasaray player to spare his blushes.
It was a bad day all round for poor Sneijder. His side ending up on the receiving end of a shock 2-1 loss to the Czechs.
