France Football have released the salaries drawn by all of the managers going to Euro 2016, and it is conclusive proof that Roy Hodgson is arguably the most overpaid man in any public pursuit in the world. Hodgson is being paid €5 million annually by the FA, meaning he was paid €500,000 per match in 2015.
In comparison to Hodgson, virtually everyone's pay is modest: including the one million euro being drawn every year by Martin O'Neill. Any justification for Hodgson's massive salary is further undermined by the fact that he failed to beat Germany in 2015. O'Neill will be the ninth best paid manager at the tournament.
Elsewhwere, Michael O'Neill is 13th on the list, on €320,000 annually, while Chris Coleman collects €260,000 every year from the Welsh F.A. Russian manager Leonid Slutsky is deemed the worst-paid on the list, his salary ominously described as 'For free'.
