On what was a humbling night for the Republic of Ireland and Martin O'Neill, Wales and Ryan Giggs enjoyed a tremendous start to his first competitive game in charge.
Playing some outstanding football during a 4-1 defeat of O'Neill's side, the expected excellence of Gareth Bale and Aaron Ramsey was wonderfully accentuated by a host of young Welsh talent.
Undoubtedly excited by what it is to come, O'Neill and Ireland have less reason to look forward with much anticipation.
However, rarely one to see things as they so blatantly appear to others, O'Neill seemed to perplex even Giggs in the immediate aftermath of this match.
Going over to carry out the post-match handshake, viewers were left confused as to whether the Irish boss had said something to Giggs that rubbed the Welsh manager up the wrong way.
Ryan Giggs off to a flier but whatever Martin O’Neill said to him at FT, Giggs looked pretty bemused.. 😳 pic.twitter.com/D6ElCtaF2e

Some suspect that perhaps Giggs was simply surprised that his former Manchester United teammate Roy Keane hadn't come over to shake his hand after the match.
