Martin O'Neill is on the verge of becoming the next manager of Nottingham Forest.
The Guardian's Daniel Taylor reports that O'Neill is set to succeed Aitor Karanka. The Spaniard was sacked by Forest last week after just a year in the job.

O'Neill departed as Republic of Ireland manager in November.
As he was so partial to reminding everyone during his five years as Ireland boss, the 66-year-old won two European Cups with Forest as a player.
The club is currently ninth in the Championship, four points outside the playoff places.
