Betting may be suspended on the new Leicester City manager market, but for some people in the know, that may be premature.
According to the Irish Independent, FAI sources remain convinced that O'Neill will see out his current contract at least. While the FAI themselves have chosen to decline to comment, close sources suggest that there has been no approach from Leicester for O'Neill.
The reports indicate that there is nothing in the recent reports that O'Neill is close to rejoining the Foxes. As of now, the FAI would be surprised if the Derryman were to walk away from the job with four games remaining of the Euro 2016 qualifying campaign, despite saying that they wouldn't step in his way if he wanted to leave
Earlier this year, O'Neill said he was open to extending his contract with the FAI; but acknowledged that a weak end to this campaign might hinder his chances.
The plot thickens.
