Niall Keown has been handed a new three-year deal with Reading.
Son of Arsenal legend Martin Keown, he was called up, for the first time, to the Ireland U21 squad back in March. He qualifies for Ireland through his paternal grandparents.
The 20-year old also made his first team debut for Reading last season.

Reading manager Steve Clarke said Keown has the potential to become a regular for the senior side.
Niall has progressed well through the Academy and has very good defensive attributes. He is tenacious in his challenges both in the air and on the ground and deservedly made his full first team debut at Watford last season.
Whilst recognising that there is still a lot to work on, it’s good that he has committed to Reading for the next three years as we feel that he has the potential to become a regular member of our first team squad.
Here he is in action for the Reading U21s.
