Italian Third Tier Side Make Audacious Bid For Mario Balotelli

It's never a dull moment when Mario Balotelli is around. In his short career so far, he has played in the European Championship final, won a premier league trophy with Man City, three Serie A titles and one Champions League trophy. He's combined to play for four of the biggest clubs in the world for a combined transfer fee of €60 million.

It's fair to say that Balotelli's latest move to Liverpool has been the least successful of his career so far, and now he's being offered a way out and back to Italy.

Plucky Italian Lega Pro side ASD Lupa Castelli were only formed two years ago, and with Balotelli actively trying to return to Italy, they have reached out to Mario to offer him a route back:

Our intention is to bring our friend, Balotelli, here, a player who at this time needs to start afresh because we see that he does not want to play anymore, has fans opposing him and is no longer able to show his quality.

The club president Marco Amelia was speaking to Sky Italia about the club's offer, and how Balotelli can learn from his mistakes and clean up his act with the newly formed club:

For Balotelli, this could be the first step towards cleaning up his act, taking two steps back and showing everyone what he is capable of doing.

Six months here would be useful to him to start the path of purification. He must regain humility and enthusiasm that allowed him to break into football matters when he was starting out.

He does admit that it will be difficult to tempt Mario, but he does know what his club has going in its favour besides money:

It will be difficult, almost impossible, but I will try anyway. I hope that the importance of the city of Rome and our friendship helps me.

Where would you rather live - on the outskirts of Rome or in Liverpool?
