Mario Balotelli was substituted at half time against Uruguay for apparently having a row with Cesare Prandelli in the dressing room.
Fans were left scratching their heads when the flamboyant striker was replaced before the beginning of the second half in the Italian’s key match against the South Americans. Uruguay ended up winning the match 1-0, knocking the Azzurri out of the tournament.
Prandelli allegedly told the former Man City man that he needed to improve his attitude or he would take him off after 10 minutes. According to CNN sports correspondent Tancredi Palmeri, this sparked an explosive reaction from Balotelli, who disagreed with his coach’s handling of the situation.
