Time is running out. With Lambert gone and Borini going, it seems Balotelli may be the only one of Liverpool's unwanted attacking triumvirate that will still be sticking around at Anfield this season.
Sampdoria have been linked to the Italian international but it seems they have gone cold on the idea and they're not the only ones. It's clear Liverpool want him gone but it's also clear that they're finding it very difficult to find a buyer.
No one in the Premier League will go near him and it seems even Serie A sides have been put off by his less than stellar debut season at Anfield. So where does that leave Balotelli?
Well one thing's for certain, it won't be leaving him in Dubai.
Cosmin Olaroiu, head coach of Al Ahli, have confirmed that his side were in discussions to sign Balotelli but were told in no uncertain terms that he wouldn't be playing in the Arabian Gulf League.
We thought about Balotelli and we even had a discussion with his agent Mino Raiola. But Balotelli turned down our proposal because he wants to play for another.
That's another team off the list. Brendan Rodgers is going to have to ramp up his cold calling efforts between now and the end of the transfer window if he wants to see the back of Super Mario.
