It's been a busy summer of transfers already, with Liverpool missing out and several players despite signing six first team players.
Manchester United were among the first to make moves, with Dutch winger Memphis Depay joining the Red Devils. Other targets looked close to coming to fruition, but United missed out on Clyne and Dani Alves. They look to be after Sergio Ramos to bolster their right sided defender stocks, but today there is news of two other targets.
The first is French midfielder Morgan Schneiderlein. United are believed to have had a £20 million bid rejected by Southampton for the midfielder, and van Gaal looks set to go back to the south coast with an improved offer according to the Irish Independent.
Schneiderlein is believed to be angling for a move, but Southampton are looking for a fee of £30 million. Schneiderlein has already let them know that he wants to join United, especially after Southampton stopped him from joining former boss Mauricio Pocchetino at Spurs last season.
Speaking of Spurs, it's been reported in the Sun that United have made contact with the North London club over Harry Kane. Louis van Gaal is anxious to find a new striker with van Persie set to leave, and they rejected the chance to sign Falcao on a permanent deal. United have identified Kane as the eventual long-term successor to soon-to-be-30-year-old Wayne Rooney.
Rooney is believed to be encouraged by United's pursuit of the 21-year-old Kane, but Spurs are adamant that Kane will not be leaving White Hart Lane.
Perhaps they have been listening to Raymond Domenech.
