The announcement of Mason Mount's move to Manchester United appears to be imminent, but it seems as though the club's pursuit of midfielders will not end there.
United could announce the signing of Mount as early as Wednesday, after the player completed a medical at Carrington ahead of his move from Premier League rivals Chelsea.

Financial Fair Play restrictions are rumoured to be affecting United's budget in the summer transfer window, meaning that the club may look for budget options in some areas as they seek to bolster a squad which finished third last season.
One such player who Manchester United appear to have rekindled their interest in is Fiorentina midfielder Sofyan Amrabat, who could be available for as little as £30 million.

Manchester United: Sofyan Amrabat on club's summer transfer wishlist
Sofyan Amrabat was one of the stars of the 2022 FIFA World Cup, being named in many outlets' teams of the tournament after playing a crucial role in Morocco's unexpected semi-final appearance.
The defensive midfielder played a pivotal role, as Morocco knocked out Belgium, Spain, and Portugal on a famous run to the last four.
He also helped Fiorentina reach the final of the UEFA Europa Conference League last season, their first appearance in a European final in over 30 years.

Now, it appears as though Manchester United have their sights set once again on the Moroccan midfielder.

Amrabat's contract with Fiorentina expires next summer. The Mail reported this week that not only would they be willing to listen to offers of £30 million for Amrabat, but that Manchester United could be tempted by this valuation, if they can offload some players in the transfer window.
At least one of Fred, Scott McTominay, and Donny van de Beek are expected to leave Old Trafford this summer, and Amrabat would be seen as an ideal replacement for Fred, should his move away transpire.
United did show interest in signing the 26-year-old in January, but Fiorentina were not interested in offers for Amrabat, fresh off the back of his World Cup heroics.
Fiorentina chief executive Giuseppe Barone says no concrete approach has been made for Amrabat just yet this summer - but said that they would be open to offers:
We've not received any bids or proposal for him at all. He is a Fiorentina player now.
If an offer comes in, we will consider it.
Amrabat would certainly be a solid addition to Manchester United's squad, but it remains to be seen if the Premier League club can afford to add to their summer outlay, with a new striker and goalkeeper seen as priorities for Erik Ten Hag after the acquisition of Mason Mount.
