Man United's recruitment drive for the Louis Van Gaal revolution looks in no sign of stopping.
After missing out on Dani Alves, Van Gaal has turned his attention to want-away Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos. Man United have today submitted a formal bid for the World Cup winner thought to be in the region of just over £30 million. It appears that the offer does not include Real Madrid target David de Gea.
Real Madrid are expected to reject United's opening offer, as they are said to value the defender at closer to £46 million. Ramos also has a buy-out clause of £180 million in his contract. Having said that, Real Madrid look happy to let Ramos leave.
Ramos does appear to be the sort of player that United need - a ball-playing right-sided defender comfortable at both centre half and right back.
Whether United can actually get the deal done however is another thing, this could be yet another protracted transfer saga to watch this summer.
