Manchester United are set to beat out a number of top European clubs for the signature of 16-year old Noam Emeran.
According to RMC, the deal is set to be finalised over the coming weeks, with United still in negotiations with French club Amiens over the transfer. The initial fee is in the region of €2million, with the deal potentially reaching €10million due to a number of bonus clauses. Amien will also have a sell-on clause in the player's contract.
The young attacker was of interest to a host of top clubs on the continent, with PSG and Juventus rumoured to be recruiting the player in recent times. The player was wooed by United however, and could move to Old Trafford as soon as January.
Emeran has yet to make his senior debut for Amiens, but has been tearing it up at underage level. He made his debut for the France u16 side last year, and has been the focus of national media attention in recent times.
United have a track record of bringing youngsters into the first team, with a number of academy products in the current squad. Marcus Rashford, Jessie Lingard and Scott McTominay all progressed through the youth ranks, while Paul Pogba was also an academy member prior to leaving for Turin.
While Mourinho had a reputation for not offering playing time to younger players, he has turned to United's academy products frequently during his tenure at Old Trafford. He has repeatedly entrusted Scott McTominay with a starting place in vital games, while Jessie Lingard is arguably one of the few players that has improved during the manager's time at the club.
Emeran will no doubt be hoping to replicate the success of those players, although one would not expect to see him feature in the first team for a couple of years.
