Manchester United have been forced to deal with a tough hand this season in terms of the injuries suffered by crucial squad members.
Luke Shaw and Lisandro Martinez, both standout performers last season, have spent much of this campaign on the sidelines, and Erik Ten Hag has also been forced to do without new signing Mason Mount for most of the season.
On top of this, various squad members have endured injury layoffs at different stages of the season keeping them out for weeks if not months on end.
One such player is Brazilian midfielder Casemiro.
When fit, the former Real Madrid man has struggled to replicate the form which made him such an impressive presence during his debut season with United - though, in truth, he has been fit for very little of the campaign.
He missed almost three months of the season with a hamstring injury sustained in November, and pulled out of the epic FA Cup victory over Liverpool last weekend due to a recurrence of the issue.
However, a remarkable report from the Brazilian media claims that the reappearance of the issue was not initially spotted by United's medical team.

Report: Manchester United medical department missed recurring Casemiro injury
Trivela, a Brazilian football publication, reported this week from London as the national team prepare to face England in an international friendly at Wembley on Saturday evening.
United star Casemiro is missing from the Brazilian squad through injury, but paid his national teammates a visit at their camp in St Albans, just north of London.
Trivela report from said camp that the hamstring injury which ruled Casemiro out from the Liverpool game and the Brazilian squad was initially missed by tests carried out by Manchester United's medical staff.
They claim that Casemiro reported discomfort in his hamstring to the club's doctors in the days approaching the FA Cup quarter-final and underwent tests. Initially, no issue was detected. Dissatisfied with this test, Casemiro went to a private doctor he had worked with before who confirmed that a small injury was present in the area which would become far worse if he were to play on it. He was subsequently ruled out of the Liverpool game.
Loosely translated from Portuguese, the report claims the potential severity of the injury would be "as if the scar opened again."
Trivela go on to confirm that Casemiro will meet with the Brazilian team doctor during the camp in the UK to further discuss his injury.
Given their team has suffered so many injuries this season, these claims will be uncomfortable for Manchester United fans to read.
