Manchester United fans are under fire for their treatment of Zirkzee after the club's new signing was pulled off just 33 minutes into his side's loss to Newcastle.
Ruben Amorim's men suffered yet another Premier League defeat on Monday evening as they succumbed to a 2-0 loss to Newcastle, marking just the second time the Magpies have claimed a league win in the once-fabled Old Trafford.
It was a humbling evening for Manchester United who had the long road ahead of them laid bare in front of their eyes, as Alexander Isak ended any hope of a glittering finish to the year with his fourth-minute goal.
It wasn't long after when Joelinton struck home for Newcastle's second and final goal of the day and secured their fifth-place spot in the Premier League standings.

Manchester United fans under fire for Zirkzee treatment
While it was a frustrating night for the home crowd, it still came as a surprise when 23-year-old Joshua Zirkzee's early departure from the affair was met with a ringing of jeering and then sustained boos from a crowd once known for their fierce loyalty to their own.
Zirkzee, who is not even six months in Manchester was quite evidently bearing the brunt of long-held frustrations by the Manchester United fans. But, even still the fans have come under fire both on social media from many of their own, and in the print on Tuesday morning.
'Disgusting was the theme as they took to social media to air their frustrations: 'Just throwing my hat into the ring — Old Trafford doing that to Zirkzee was disgusting, honestly don’t care if he’s not been great but he’s been hung out to dry, new signing and you treat him that horribly because he’s been pipped as the fall guy? Grim'.
'I won’t watch ZIrkZee getting booed again. I hated when they did it to Fellaini and it was disgusting again last night. You win as a team and you lose as a team. I absolutely understand the frustration but it is just the latest embarrassment from an entire shitshow of the club'
While others pointed out that it was no way to treat new signings:
'Of all players, why is it Zirkzee that’s got boo’ed? Not how you should treat new signings at all. Not his fault and he’s not the problem. Disgusting reaction.'
Despite there being some mixed opinion on Social Media, Tuesday's papers showed little kindness to the jeering Manchester United fans, with James Ducker of the Telegraph calling it 'extraordinary and grim' in his analysis.
In fairness to the 23-year-old, while he initially disappeared down the tunnel, presumably in search of refuge, the Dutch forward did re-emerge to a slightly warmer reception and take his place among the substitutions.
Last night's loss was the club's fifth defeat in six league games and poses more questions that it can possibly answer. Manchester United now sit fourteenth in the Premier League an astonishing twenty-three points from the top and just seven points clear of the relegation zone.
Things aren't set to get any easier for Zirkzee and Ruben Amorim either with an away trip to Liverpool next on the cards and an FA Cup clash in the Emirates following that.
