Form guide and head-to-head
Manchester United are in a dire run of form to start the season off, with defeat to Galatasaray on Tuesday leaving their Champions League hopes hanging by a thread.
They have also lost four of their opening seven Premier League games, to leave them in 10th in the table, and have an injury crisis to boot. Lisandro Martinez and Luke Shaw's lengthy lay-offs continue, though Erik Ten Hag has been able to call on Mason Mount again in recent games after a spell on the sidelines.
Though they have only lost two games, Brentford's repeated draws this season have them on just seven points from their first seven games. In the absence of Ivan Toney, Bryan Mbeumo has impressed going forward for Brentford, scoring four goals so far this season.
Last year saw both teams take one win from their meetings in the Premier League - though Brentford's infamous 4-0 demolition of United in London last August was undoubtedly far more notable than United's 1-0 win at Old Trafford in April.
