While they are still very much in the mix in three competitions, it is fair to say that this season has been somewhat of a transitionary one for Manchester City.
Erling Haaland's arrival has forced the team to adjust in style somewhat, with a number of previously key contributors also seeing less playing time or being moved on entirely.
The club is sure to bring in some new recruits during the summer, with centre back a position of priority. Not only have some players been short of form in that area, but there have also been rumours that Aymeric Laporte could be sold in the months ahead.
As a result, City have already identified one possible target.
Manchester City eyeing move for Josko Gvardiol
The Daily Star are reporting that Manchester City are keen on signing RB Leipzig defender Josko Gvardiola this summer.
Of course, they got a good look at the player in recent weeks, with the 21-year old scoring in the Champions League last-16 meeting between the sides.

Having starred for Croatia at the World Cup last winter, it is expected that Gvardiol will fetch a very hefty fee should he be sold this summer.
It has been reported that RB Leipzig will seek up to £100million in order to let him leave at the end of the campaign. That would represent quite the profit on the £15million they paid to sign him from Dinamo Zagreb in 2021.
While such a price may seem a tad unrealistic, there is sure to be plenty of competition for his signature. Liverpool are also rumoured to be interested, with the defender having previously revealed that he supported the Merseyside outfit asa youngster.
Since I was a little boy, my dad and I watched Liverpool matches, and I grew up with only them.
When I took football more seriously, I started following them, and I definitely want the Premier League and Liverpool.
Josko Gvardiol has also spoken about his ambition to play for Real Madrid, another possible option in the summer.
It will be interesting to see where he ends up.
