Newsflash: Don't believe everything you read in the Daily Mail.
They reported last night that Man Utd had agreed a deal to sign Bayern Munich's Toni Kroos.
Manchester United have agreed a deal to sign Bayern Munich midfielder Toni Kroos and are set to make a stunning move for his team-mate Arjen Robben.
A £20million deal for Kroos was agreed when David Moyes was still in charge at Old Trafford and his successor, former Bayern coach Louis van Gaal, has said the move can go ahead.
The Guardian have a different story this afternoon though with Jamie Jackson saying that Louis van Gaal has "decided he should not be a target for the club this close season."
No specific reasons for United's pursuit of the 24-year-old being ended are given though.
As The Daily Mail mentioned, Kroos was a long-time target of the club under David Moyes and it had been reported that Van Gaal had sanctioned the midfielder's continued pursuit.
Maybe Man Utd fans should take that Robben link with a pinch of salt then too.
