Be it Ramos, Muller, Schweinsteiger or a all the above it looks like Man United are determined to bring in at least one bone fide world class player to Old Trafford this summer. While reports of Muller and Robben were pure and utter nonsense, it seems the possibility of seeing Schweinsteiger in the Premier League next year is anything but.
The Germany midfielder has been slightly pushed to one side at Bayern over the past 12 months. Injuries and Pep Guardiola's reliance on the likes of Xabi Alonso have ensured that Schweinsteiger's importance is not what it once was. Given his standing in the game, it would be understandable that he'd be less than pleased with that situation and according to Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, he's very much considering his option.
The Bayern CEO held a press conference today and was seemingly in no mood to dance around the Schweinsteiger issue.
I was on the phone on vacation with Bastian Schweinsteiger. We will meet when he is back.
I make no bones about the fact that I have been heard in this conversation, but he is flattered by the interest from England.
Very interesting. As transfer rumours go, we'll put this one in the very possible column for the rest of the summer.
