Marouane Fellaini has moved to #27, this is the biggest news we may ever have reported on Balls.ie.

Just kidding, but seriously there have actually been some big decisions made for the Manchester United squad numbers, and while Fellaini has moved to accommodate Bastian Schweinsteiger's favourite number, it's certainly not the main talking point.

Luke Shaw has decided to swap the #3 shirt for #23, which is odd, and James Wilson will now be wearing #19, but there's one change that's grabbed our attention straight away:

Memphis Depay will be Manchester United's new #7.

If you think the #7 at Old Trafford is just a number, then ask Antonio Valencia how he feels about it. Memphis had been wearing #9 in pre-season while #7 still belonged to Di Maria, but his claiming of such an iconic shirt number tells us that he's very confident of being a big player for the club.

The new shirt numbers assigned and number changes are as follows:

Luke Shaw: 3 > 23
Memphis Depay: 7
James Wilson: 19
Sergio Romero: 20
Marouane Fellaini: 31 > 27
Morgan Schneiderlin: 28
Bastian Schweinsteiger: 31
Matteo Darmian: 36
