With Jose Mourinho's much publicised wish to sign a centre back, a report in Turkey claims that Galatassary president Mustafa Cengiz flew to England to discuss a possible deal for defender Ozan Kabak.
Aksam write that the 18-year-old could make the move to Manchester for around £20 million. His contract in Turkey runs until 2020.
The 6ft 1in defender has featured ten times for Galatassary this season and while Mourinho could do with reinforcements at the back, perhaps Kabak would not be an immediate solution to his defensive woes. A man that would be a more impressive candidate to plug United's leaky defence is Napoli's Kalidou Koulibaly.
Koulibaly impressed in midweek despite his side's Champions League exit at the hands of Liverpool and the Evening Standard reckon that United will make the 27-year-old the most expensive defender in the world in a £100 million deal for the Senegal international.
In other United news, David De Gea is set for a bumper pay rise in his next contract with The Sun claiming that the Spanish number one will earn over £400,000-a-week. This eye-watering sum would make De Gea the highest paid goalkeeper in world football.
