The Super League Final between Leeds Rhinos and Wigan was a humdinger yesterday. The Rhinos came from behind to pip Wigan 22-20 in a tense finale.

Earlier in the week, former Rugby League Ireland chairman Dave Southern had complained bitterly about the England-Uruguay rugby union game being scheduled to take place in Manchester on the same day as the Super League Final. In any event, he needn't have worried. There was little to interest people in the England-Argentina game.

The artist currently known as DJ Spoony was put on DJ duty appropriately enough. Apparently, it's common knowledge that he's a Liverpool fan. You're at nothing if you don't know that.

Let loose behind the decks in Old Trafford, he took the opportunity to blare out 'You'll Never Walk Alone'.

One music reviewer in close proximity to the cameraman wasn't impressed with the song.
