Man United have secured Champions League football for next season after defeating a woeful Chelsea side 4-1 at Old Trafford.

The victory guarantees them a top four finish and a win on Sunday will see them take third place and avoid the Champions League qualification stage with a straight route to the groups.

Casemiro opened the scoring, heading home a Christian Eriksen free-kick after six minutes, before Antony Martial tapped home from close range.

The finish from Martial was easy, but it was the no look pass from Casemiro to Jadon Sancho that made it a special goal.

Man United would add two further second half goals, with Bruno Fernandes converting from the penalty spot and Marcus Rashford scoring off the bench after taking advantage of a defensive mishap from Chelsea.

Joao Felix got the consolation goal for the away side in the 89th minute.

Following the match, Fernandes discussed making the top four and what it means for the success of Man United's season.

"It is decent, it's not perfect because we want more. For what we did this season it's perfect. We get the trophy which was our goal after seeing we couldn't get the Premier League. Now it's about finishing the league well and going to FA Cup.

"They've been amazing for us," he added when asked about the fans.

"We've won many games at home. They've been creating a great atmosphere for us. They know how important they are for us. We just appreciate all the effort.

"We know it means a lot [to the fans]. For us it's about getting our goals. We know we'd be happy also for Liverpool to not be there but for us it's about getting the best for ourselves."
