Remember Pierre van Hooijdonk? Of course you do. The former Celtic and Nottingham Forest striker may be remembered as the guy who went on strike that time but as fans of any of his clubs will tell you, he was damn good at scoring goals.
Now van Hooijdonk has added another string to his bow, he's a prime source for transfer market gossip it seems. According to the Mirror, the 45 year old has been spilling the beans on what is happening with Robin van Persie's expected departure from Man United.
The former Netherlands striker is claiming that the current Netherlands striker is going to leave Old Trafford this summer, whether he wants to or not.
Van Persie is in a difficult situation. To the outside world he says he is happy to stay and I can understand this. But Robin has the feeling that United want to get rid of him.
Van Hooijdonk claims that United have been forcing van Persie out of the club as far back as January when agents were sent to Fenerbahce to test the waters for a move. Apparently the former Arsenal man would prefer a move to one of Europe's top leagues but he may not have a choice if Fenerbahce come in with the biggest offer.
