Richard Swanson, a 42-year-old man who was attempting to dribble a football 10,000 miles from his home town of Seattle to Brazil ahead of the 2014 World Cup has died after he was struck by a pickup truck on the Oregon coast. Swanson was attempting to raise money for the One World Futbol Project, which provide durable footballs for children living in developing countries. The driver of the truck has not been charged. Swanson's itinerary would have taken him through eleven countries, finishing up in São Paulo for the start of the World Cup. You can find out more, or donate to the charity at www.oneworldfutbol.com.
