Man Claims Women Should Not Wear GAA Jerseys: Sexist Or Fair?

Today is GOAL's GAA Jersey Day. From the comfort of his home in San Diego, Irish musician Dara Quilty raised the above point of fashion advice to Irish women on the wearing of GAA jerseys. Now far be it from any Irishman (including Paul Galvin) to lend fashion wisdom to any Irish female, but we were wondering if there was perhaps a grain of truth in this statement. GAA jerseys - ill-fitting and polyester - rarely add much to the female form. It is disappointing that O'Neill's has done so little over the year to cater to female fashion taste. But there are, as Quilty was told on his Twitter feed, exceptions that prove the rule.
