A tweet from the Man City Twitter account really came back to bite it in the arse. Ahead of the clash with Roma in the Champions League yesterday it tweeted that Francesco Totti had never scored in England.
We're looking forward to hosting you @OfficialASRoma, and a legendary player such as Totti. He's never scored in England, has he? #CityvRoma

There then followed a back and forth between the two club's accounts.
You're right, @MCFC. Our Capitano has never scored in England. But there's always a first time for everything... #CityvRoma

Hopefully it won't be tonight and he'll have to wait a bit longer! Best of luck anyway and we'll see you later! @OfficialASRoma! #CityvRoma

The Roma Twitter account was right. There is a first time for everything as the 38-year-old showed with a calm and classy finish last night.
Totti told Gazzetta dello Sport that he thought the tweet had brought him luck:
City’s tweet? It really brought me luck. It was a beautiful goal and a good performance.
It wasn't a great day for Twitter accounts of English clubs, Chelsea's sent out one with a typo to beat all typos.
