Manchester City have pulled out of any potential deal for Alexis Sanchez and ended their interest in the Arsenal striker.
There are widespread reports that Manager Pep Guardiola, the club's owner Khaldoon al Mubarak and other the club's hierarchy are all in agreement on the matter.
It emerged this weekend that on top of the £30m fee Arsenal want, his agent Fernando Felicevich is expected to want £10m to secure a deal in this window.
Manchester United have been involved with high agent fees before, with Mino Raiola reputedly securing £41m in 2016 with the Paul Pogba deal and £12m for Romelu Lukaku last summer.
Mourinho on Mkhitaryan as a makeweight in Sanchez deal: "Is it possible he's going to be involved in the deal? It's possible. It's also possible he stays."

Would be very surprised at this late stage if Sanchez did not end up at United. Been full of twists and turns this transfer but United the frontrunners #MUFC

Although there is a possibility for a late Chelsea move, it seems now Jose Mourinho's outfit are favourites to secure the Chilean.

Sanchez was not involved in Arsenal's loss to Bournemouth last weekend and Arsene Wenger admitted defeat last Friday and announced that Sánchez would not be signing a new deal with the club.
Manchester United beat Stoke 3-0 tonight. After the game, Mourinho had this to say on the saga:
No news on Alexis Sanchez, he is an Arsenal player, if he stays it's great for Arsenal, if he comes to us, great for us. If he goes to another club, great for them.
