Luke Shaw spent last night in an Eindhoven hospital after suffering a broken leg against PSV in the Champions League.
Less than an hour after he sustained the injury, the Man Utd left-back was on Twitter replying to some good wishes from his former club Southampton.
Shaw does not retain a close bond with just his former club however, it seems he also still has a close relationship with his former manager, the now manager of Spurs Mauricio Pochettino.
The Argentine told media that he called Shaw on Wednesday morning and so emotional was the England international, it was tough to comprehend what he was saying.
I spoke with him this morning.
He’s much better today but it is always difficult when you have that type of injury. I gave my support and wish him a speedy recovery.
It’s difficult because he was crying.
You can understand that after the big injury. Not only for the pain but everything around the situation.
I feel very sorry for him. It was a big impact for me and I watched the moment it happened. I was sick after the action. My relationship with him was close and it is difficult.
