Luke Shaw has suggested that he has began to 'turn the corner' at Manchester United after one of the most tumultuous months of his careeer.
Shaw's United career was deemed over earlier this month when José Mourinho accused the England left-back of lacking commitment. The 21-year-old then all but rescued his side at home to Everton when he won a last-minute penalty which was dispatched by Zlatan Ibrahimovic. In spite of his more-than-decent cameo, Shaw was then essentially accused of being brain-dead by his manager. His topsy-turvy April continued when he started during United's 3-0 win at Sunderland last weekend, with Mourinho seemingly making a point of conspicuously praising his display as he left the field on the hour mark.
In a quite revealing interview with Sky Sports' Geoff Shreeves, Shaw indicated that Mourinho's positive words gave him an extra pep in his step as he attempts to salvage his United career. The former Southampton man also indicated that he and Mourinho sat down for 'crisis talks' of some description, which concluded with Shaw telling his boss: 'I'm going to prove you wrong'.
The young wing-back did also admit, however, that he might not have been working as hard as his manager would have liked, but such an approach is now behind him. You can watch his rather candid chat with Shreeves below.
