Burton Albion beat Scunthorpe 2-1 on Saturday.
71 minutes into the game, Scunthorpe keeper Luke Daniels received a red card for a blatant elbow on Burton midfielder Mark Duffy. The two players tangled after the keeper had caught a shot and then Daniels clipped Duffy with his elbow on the edge of the box.
Along with the red card for the goalkeeper, the referee also awarded Burton a penalty.
Daniels later claimed on Twitter that there was 'no intent'.
Absolutely devastated. No intent but also no excuses. I have let the fans, staff and players down today. Can't apologise enough!!
