The Premier League is the best league in the whole wide World ever times infinity.
That's the message you will get after spending just two minutes watching Sky Sports News on any given day, but now the lads on Soccer Saturday who clearly couldn't be arsed watching any of the inferior leagues from around Europe have quite a significant figure backing up their claim in Barcelona star Luis Suarez.
In a frank and honest interview with ESPN Deportes, Luis Suarez admitted that he thinks the Premier League is the best league in the World, and that he himself isn't that good.
The Premier League is the best league in the world. But Barcelona are the best team. I do not consider myself one of the best players in the world but it is a pleasure to play in the best team. And we still have goals to fulfil. We want to become the first team to win consecutive Champions Leagues. We're very motivated this season. We are obliged to keep winning.
It's probably the most entertaining, and easily the most well supported, but the performance of English clubs in Europe in recent seasons would suggest that the best football is played outside of the Barclays Premier League.
Suarez also revealed that he has a few plans he wishes to see come to fruition in his career, but sadly for Liverpool fans he didn't mention his most recent former club:
I would like to retire at the club I love, Nacional. But I also want to return to Ajax someday. The MLS would not be a bad choice. It could happen one day. The US love of the game is growing a lot. People are filling the stadiums.
To be fair, it's surely not anyone at Liverpool's fault he doesn't want to return to England.
Interesting comments from Suarez, but what is it with every big player in the World being asked if they want to play in the MLS?
