Steven Gerrard has been linked with a move to bring his former teammate Luis Suarez to Aston Villa this summer. The Uruguayan is currently a free agent after spending the past two seasons with Atletico Madrid.
Should Suarez decide on a move back to the Premier League, he will link up with Philippe Coutinho for a third time in his career after having spells alongside the Brazillian at Liverpool and Barcelona.
The 35-year-old has scored 34 goals during his spell under Diego Simeone at Atletico.
Aston Villa and their summer business so far
Villa aren't wasting any time on preparations ahead of the 22/23 season and have already made Coutinho's stay at the club permanent in a deal worth around €20 million.
Coutinho joined Villa on a loan deal back in January, scoring five goals and assisting three during his spell at the club.
It would appear to be an absolute steal of a transfer from Aston Villa considering the playmaker signed for Barcelona for €140 million back in January 2018.
Gerrard also completed the signing of Boubacar Kamara on a five year deal from Marseille. The highly rated midfielder had been on the radar of some of Europe's elite after a fantastic season in Ligue 1.
Kamara helped Marseille to a second placed finish in Ligue 1 and was part of the side that got to the Europa Conference League semifinal.

After completing his move to Birmingham, Kamara said;
"When I met with Steven (Gerrard), Christian (Purslow, chief executive) and Johan (Lange, sporting director) in my home I knew Aston Villa was for me. Their ambition and determination to succeed matches my own. I cannot wait for pre-season to get going."
Steven Gerrard also spoke about his excitement ahead of the French midfielder joining up with his side.
"I am delighted that we have been able to attract one of the most promising young talents in European football.
"We have a very clear plan to make our team stronger and Bouba is an important part of that."
Villa also announced the signing of Diego Carlos on Thursday evening with the Brazillian joining the club from Sevilla in deal worth upwards of €30 million.
Aston Villa can confirm the club has reached an agreement with Sevilla FC for the transfer of Diego Carlos for an undisclosed fee.

Newcastle had been heavily linked with the 29-year-old in the January transfer window but refused to pay a fee around €40 million that Sevilla had been demanding at the time.
Villa's transfer business doesn't seem to be near an end just yet either and have been heavily linked with Burnley's James Tarkowski whose contract is also out this summer.
