It's safe to say that Luis Suarez was involved in his fair share of controversy during his time in the Premier League, and he has urged fellow Uruguayan Darwin Nunez not to make the same mistakes he did.
Suarez played for Liverpool from 2011 to 2014, nearly helping them to the 2013-14 Premier League title, but his time with the club was also marked by violent incidents and a grim incident of racist abuse against Manchester United defender Patrice Evra.
Luis Suarez spoke about new Liverpool signing Darwin Nunez to Telemundo this week, and revealed he had spoken to his countryman after his reckless red card against Crystal Palace on Monday night.
Suarez said that he had warned Liverpool's new striker not to give defenders any fuel, saying that opponents will seek to rile him up if they see him reacting violently.
Luis Suarez gives warning to countryman Darwin Nunez
Darwin Nunez was sent off against Crystal Palace for a wild headbutt on Joachim Andersen. Video footage showed Andersen attempting to provoke a reaction from Nunez, and Luis Suarez has warned his fellow Uruguayan that these tactics will only become more regular.

Suarez acknowledged his past mistakes and missteps, and said that Nunez must learn quicker than he did, if he is to adapt to the English game. He said:
I talked to him because he is just starting out, and I wanted to make him aware that from now on [opponents] will be seeking him out twice or three times more often. Even more so in England - he's hearing this from an idiot who made mistakes and suffered for them, but falling down and getting up again made me stronger.
Darwin is someone who listens a lot - he is very smart that way and I think he will try to turn this situation around.
It is not a big deal, we have all made mistakes. We have all been sent off. The problem is that he's only just arrived over there and in England, to put it lightly, they make a big deal out of everything.
Nunez will miss Liverpool's next three games after his red card, and will surely be heeding Luis Suarez's advice.

Despite the comments from Suarez about "getting up stronger", his misdemeanours from his time at Liverpool hang like a dark cloud over his football career. Two incidents of biting opponents, coupled with the shocking incident with Patrice Evra in 2011, are far more egregious "mistakes" than Nunez's headbutt on Andersen.
It will be fascinating to track how Darwin Nunez responds to the atmosphere and physicality of the Premier League, and whether he can make a similar impact to that made by Luis Suarez when he signed in 2011.
