Luis Suarez released a statement on his twitter account, announcing that he will accept his 10 game ban from the FA.
Although the tone of the statement is largely conciliatory, Suarez does make reference to the length of his ban being greater than "those bans given in past cases where players have actually been seriously injured" but acknowledges that his actions "were not acceptable on the football pitch so I do not want to give the wrong impression to people by making an appeal"
Liverpool have also released yet another statement on their website.
Managing Director Ian Ayre and Brendan Rodgers both articulate their disappointment at the severity of Suarez's punishment and look forward to welcoming back the striker after his ban has been completed.
