Bad news for those of you worrying that the seismic events of 2016 may have heralded the incipient End of the World: 2017 has begun with Lucas Leiva scoring a goal for Liverpool. It is the Brazilian's first goal for Liverpool since September 2010, and only his sixth for the club since joining in 2007. (To put a bit of context on how long he has been at the club: he was signed in the same transfer window as Fernando Torres).
