Louis Van Gaal Hits Out At The Media For "Unbelievable" Non-Story On Memphis Depay

Earlier today, The Mirror published an article claiming that Memphis Depay had missed the team bus and was late arriving to the team hotel ahead of Manchester United's Champions League clash with CSKA Moscow.

They had based this on the fact that their photographers captured Depay arriving five minutes after his teammates in his own car, but it turns out that he didn't miss the bus at all, and Louis Van Gaal used a pre-match interview to publicly criticise the article, which was also replicated by other publications, by branding it 'unbelievable'.

Van Gaal explained that Memphis was a late call up to the match-day squad due to Morgan Schneiderlin's illness, and having only trained yesterday due to injury, he was impressed with how quickly the young Dutchman made his way to the hotel. He continues to explain that it was unbelievable that they publish the story without checking the facts first.

The tone of the article was clearly attempting to paint Memphis Depay as some sort of slacker, and considering Memphis Depay has been working with a physiotherapist due to injury would suggest that he hasn't been "AXED" in for recent matches either.

Van Gaal is fed up, and when he's fed up, he'll let you know.
