Man United wanted Pedro, Pedro went to Chelsea. That seems to be as much as we know for certain. What happened in the mean time depends very much on who you choose to believe. If you choose to believe Louis Van Gaal, then it was merely a case of him changing his mind and deciding the former Barcelona man was not the player to complete his attack.
Speaking at his weekly press conference today, it's no surprise that was the first topic on most minds and the Van Gaal seemed happy to answer it.
I think when we want Pedro it was not any problem because there was a clause in his contract.
It was the easiest transfer. I have said before what we are doing is guiding a process and in that process we make decisions.
However, despite Van Gaal's assertions that it was his decision, not everyone at the press conference seemed to believe him and when questions continued in a similar manner, Van Gaal shot down one journalist in typically entertaining Van Gaal fashion.
Sorry Louis, you can be as endearingly frank as you want but we're still not sure we believe you.
Here's a more complete picture of what went on at today's press conference.
