Efe Ambrose had a disastrous night for Celtic against Juventus, being directly at fault for two of Juventus' goals.
After the concession of Juventus' 3rd goal, Ambrose's performance led TV3 co-commentator, Lou Macari, to declare that "he should have stayed in Africa".
He was of course referring to the African Cup of Nations tournament being held in South Africa, the final of which Ambrose had just won with Nigeria on Sunday and was being labelled throughout the match as a probable reason for his poor performance.
Macari's comments lead to a minor bubble of Twitter uproar.
"Efe Ambrose with the mistake again,He should have stayed in Africa Trevor!" Lou Macari with some awful comments.. #Harsh #CelVsJuve

Out of context Macari's comments could certainly have been construed as being racist but this was just some poorly phrased commentary.
