If WB Yeats dreamed of sailing to the Artist Formerly Known As Byzantium, then Loris Karius was very much shipped off to Istanbul.
The German 'keeper is there on loan in the city with Besiktas at the moment, but both player and club have spoken about making the deal permanent. For much longer Besiktas will stick to that line, however, is unclear, as they come to realise his top-level talents are but a paltry thing.
Karius committed another series of very poor errors in last night's Europa League game with Sarpsborg. Although Besiktas won the game 3-2, with a dramatic last-minute winner, they fell 2-0 behind owing to a couple of dreadful mistakes by Karius.
The first came in the first mimute, as he rushed off his line... and managed to completely miss the ball.

Then, four minutes later, he was somehow lobbed from this distance:

Karius, by this stage, had the yips:

Jermaine Lens won it in the dying moments for Besiktas, to somewhat spare Karius' blushes.
