Watch: Stephen Hunt On Daryl Horgan Was A Pundit Moment Of The Year Contender

The first 45 minutes of Ireland vs Georgia was one unquestionably grim.

While the second half was far better as we actually decided to pressure our opponents and not simply allow them to do whatever they want with the ball, we still faced a nervy wait for the final whistle to secure all three points as Georgia went in search of an equaliser.

Bringing Glenn Whelan and John O'Shea off the bench invited further attacks from the Georgians, and it certainly didn't do much to excite the fans in attendance at the Aviva, but speaking on RTÉ's highlights show last night Stephen Hunt had a suggestion for something that would have got the crowd buzzing.

Daryl Horgan has been impressing with his performances in the Europa League for Dundalk, and Hunt couldn't understand why he wasn't given a chance to show what he can do... But in claiming that the winger "looks like Humpty Dumpty", he delivered one of the strangest and funniest pundit moments of the year.

Where did that come from?

He certainly has a point in terms of giving the Dundalk man a run out to get the crowd buzzing, but as for his resemblance to a fellow who couldn't be put back together by all of the King's horses, nor all of the King's men, we don't really see it.
