It has been a week to remember for Jordan Henderson because days after the Liverpool captain got his hands on the Premier League trophy, the midfielder has now won the FWA Footballer of The Year.
The win caps a remarkable 12 months for the England international who also captained the Reds to their sixth European Cup success against Spurs in June of last year.
Henderson has been a mainstay of Liverpool's midfield this season, contributing four goals and five assists in the league too.
Aside from his contributions on the pitch, he was also the man that contacted his fellow Premier League captains to organise a voluntary coronavirus fund that raised millions for the NHS.
FWA chair Carrie Brown: “Jordan is ultimate professional & bona fide #LFC legend... a player teammates look to on pitch & rivals off it. Voting criteria for FWA is one who leads by precept & example. Jordan personally rallied club captains to establish #PlayersTogether” #FOTY20

In a statement, the former Sunderland player said: I'd like to say how appreciative I am of the support of those who voted for me and the FWA in general. you only have to look at the past winners of it, a number of whom I've been blessed to play with here at Liverpool, like Stevie Gerrard, Luis Suarez, Mo Salah to know how prestigious it is."
Henderson also thanked "many different people - but none more so than my current teammates - who have just been incredible and deserve this every bit as much as I do. We've only achieved what we've achieved because every single member of our squad has been brilliant. Not just in producing the moments that make the headline and the back pages but every day in training."
